Dear Parishioners and Friends,
I hope you are enjoying the beauty of God’s creation this summer. We are fortunate in Sandusky to be in one the greatest places to be in the summertime. Take advantage of it!
We just had our yearly (perhaps the 18th) special worship and lunch for those 75 and above. We had a group of 45 who enjoyed a relaxed Holy Communion service in the chapel especially geared for those in their diamond years. Afterward, all enjoyed a wonderfully prepared luncheon by April McCormack and a devoted group of hard workers. Thanks to Carole Romp, chair of the Pastoral Care Committee, and her helpers for planning this special event.
The social events this summer include the memorable pig roast at the home of Susan Schultz in August. More information will be found below.
Special worship news includes the 8 a.m. service on July 20 will be at the pavilion at the Sandusky Yacht Club. All are certainly welcome; you do not have to be a member of the club. Last year the weather was fantastic, which contributed to a naturally spiritually uplifting worship experience. For the first four Sundays in August, we will have only one service, and that will be at 9 a.m. in the church.
Enjoy the summer and add something extra to it. Perhaps you might want to read through the Psalms, or leisure over Proverbs or some other smaller books of the Old Testament, or try some of Paul’s shorter Epistles. You might find some gems in Scripture, which speak to you in your present circumstance. May you find God’s Kingdom a little closer and fuller this season.
Faithfully,
